New Night Sky Photography Book!

Big news! I have a book! This has been in the works for a couple of years now, and I can finally announce it! My book “Night Sky Photography: From First Principles to Professional Results” is available now for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop, and most likely at your local bookstore!

This is my first real book (I had a short ebook available for a while), and was a HUGE undertaking! I was approached by the publisher in late 2018 about the idea for this book, it took months to write, and I was out constantly earlier this year (2020) getting some new photos for the book.

The book is available in both paperback and e-book format (e.g. Amazon Kindle, B&N Nook). The paperback edition will be released in the US on February 2nd, and in the UK on January 4th. The e-book will be available on January 4th. I’ve heard it will be available in some other languages, but I don’t have details on that yet.

This book covers everything you need to take amazing Milky Way photos! From camera gear, to planning, to camera & exposure settings, to editing, this is a very comprehensive and detailed book.

The paperback version is 208 pages. Here is the chapter list, see the other images in this post for the entire table of contents:

Overview of Techniques
Night Sky Subjects
Breaking Down an Image
Light & Noise
Camera Settings
Exposure Settings
Working in the Dark
